In honour of Prof. Dame Averil Cameron. The lectures are open to all members of the University, as well as to members of the general public.  Notes Prof. Averil Cameron is one of the world’s leading Byzantine historians. Previously Professor of Ancient History and of Late Antique and Byzantine History at King’s College, London, Prof. Cameron has been Warden of Keble College, Oxford since 1994. She has written extensively about the history of the later Roman Empire and Late Antiquity, including on religion, on rhetoric and on women. Her most recent book, The Byzantines, won the John D. Criticos prize. A Fellow of the British Academy, Prof. Cameron was made a Dame in 2006 for her services to Classical Scholarship.
