Profiles

Profiles would like to represent both a tribute to some of the most important personalities who have strongly contributed to the development of the studies concerning the areas and periods of our interest and a tool for professionals or amateurs who need to find bios and bibliographic information within this complex field of studies. For every single scholar a biography and a list of works are given. When available, it is possible to find the full-text resource of the texts.

Gerhardt, Dietrich (1911-2011)

Slavista tedesco di origine polacca, fu attivo principalmente presso l'Università di Amburgo dove tenne corsi di Filologia Slava.

Gieysztor, Aleksander (1916-1999)

Aleksander Gieysztor (1916-1999) fu uno storico polacco, specialista del medioevo.

Jagić, Vatroslav (1838 – 1923)

E' stato uno dei padri fondatori della slavistica e il suo massimo rappresentante fra il XIX e il XX secolo. Studiò filologia classica e filologia slava a Vienna con F. Miklosich, a Berlino e a San Pietroburgo.

Jakobson, Roman (1896-1982)

Fu fra i fondatori del Circolo linguistico di Praga, che sviluppò il metodo strutturalista influenzando profondamente lo sviluppo della linguistica, della semiotica e dell'antropologia. 

Jan Niecislaw Baudouin de Courtenay (1845 – 1929)

Jan Niecislaw Baudouin de Courtenay è stato un linguista polacco.È famoso per la sua teoria del fonema e dell'alternanza fonologica.
